Most users should start with Clash Plus: built on the mihomo core, with clearly separated subscription, node, and rule sections — just paste your subscription link and go. Users who need config overrides and visual rule editing can choose Clash Verge Rev instead; Clash for Windows is no longer maintained and is kept only as an archive. It still runs, but its core is stuck on the old Clash version, doesn't support newer protocols like hysteria2, and no longer receives security updates. Click the Apple menu at the top left and open "About This Mac" — if the Chip line shows an Apple M-series chip, download the Apple Silicon (arm64) build; if it shows Intel, download the Intel (x86_64) build. The installer is a dmg file — mount it and drag the client into your Applications folder.
Devices from 2019 onward are almost all arm64-v8a, so grab the arm64 package. Older 32-bit devices need the arm (armeabi-v7a) package. If you're not sure about your device's architecture, pick the universal package — it's larger but works on every device.
mihomo is the command-line core that actually handles proxy forwarding and rule matching. GUI clients like Clash Plus and Clash Verge Rev bundle or call it under the hood. Regular users don't need to download the core separately — you'd only deploy mihomo directly on servers, routers, or other environments without a GUI.
